3 months agoShort review: Quick, tasty hot dogs & fries in a clean restaurant with a friendly staff. Long review: We stopped in at 7pm on a Thursday, one other vehicle was just leaving. Went inside to a spotless restaurant. Was pleasantly greeted immediately by a duo of workers we later found was Lawrence & Jay. The pair took our combo orders of hot dogs, fries & sweet teas quickly and set to work. Now I've eaten hot dogs at most places around Albany <Jimmy's, Little Red Doghouse,the other 2 hot dog king locations>, so let me tell you this one is the best by far. The dogs were hot, right amount of chilli and condiments (you can add more yourself if needed), buns were nice and hot with the right amount of toast on them, fries were cooked fresh and seasoned well and were crisp. Tea was excellent as well, none of that pre-made mess just good tea(sweet, but not hummingbird food). We were asked how everything was and if we needed anything else. Staff cleaned up and we got out just in time as three cars rolled in before they closed up. Only complaint I might have is how much a hotdog meal has gone up in the past couple of years, but that's the world now. Overall, if you want a good hotdog to go or sit down I'd come here versus anywhere else in Albany.

4 months agoMy husband and I are currently visiting home from VA and we had a craving for this place. We haven’t been in so long. We came in nearly closing time and yet Clarence and JJ were so kind to us and didn’t mind preparing our food!! It is truly a joy to come visit home and still know people in workspace are caring. THANK YOUUUU

5 months agoHot dogs are great . I had to order more after my original order . Clarence and jay(night shift crew) does a great job in keeping the restaurant clean. I see why they got a 100 on their food health score. Every time I come home I have to have hot dog king. Best dogs in the city.

5 months agoPhenomenal spot. First thing I noticed was how sanitary and organized the dining room and kitchen were. Clarence and Jay were wonderful attendants. Hot dog was fire (I got beef with chili, cheese and onion)

5 months agoWe went by Hot dog king today. Walked in and two on the nicest people greeted me, Mr. Clarence and Ms. Queen. They was so nice and friendly! Service was quick, food was amazing! A-1 Customer service!!! Every place needs a Mr. Clarence and Ms.Queen!!! Thank y’all so much!!!

7 months agoI can’t recommend this place enough. I chose this over Longhorn because the hotdogs are so good. I had the slaw dog, chili cheese dog, a sausage dog, and tater tots. And the customer service was fantastic!
